I am a professor at Azusa Pacific University and have been a member of the faculty of the School of Business and Management for twenty one years. I teach a variety of courses in Economics, including Economics and Religion, Comparative Economics, and Microfinance and Microenterprise Development.
My research interests range from the integration of environmental and development economics with Christian missions work to the conversation between economics and theology on such issues as scarcity, competition, and value.
Before joining the APU faculty, I was the Executive Secretary of Floresta, USA, (now Plant with Purpose) a Christian NGO doing agroforestry-based microenterprise development and environmental work in the Dominican Republic. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for GMI, Inc., a Christian organization doing strategic missions research and the mapping of linguistic, cultural and economic data.
I am married to Laura Rutherford Conover (Grinnell Class of '84). We have two daughters: Andrea is sixteen and Bethann is twelve. |
