

One of the most recognizabale APU alumni, Thanks to the 1992 Reebok advertising campaign, "Who's the World's Greatest Athlete?" Dave is still very active and visible on campus. A short list of his accomplishments would include: 4 USA National Championships ('86, '89, '90, '92), 1990 Goodwill Games Gold Medal, 1992 Olympic Bronze Medal, former co-holder of the American record in the Decathlon, current World Record holder for point total in the decathlon's second day, . . . . .
While at Azusa Pacific, Mike reached athletic levels achieved by few others. Mike won the NAIA Javelin Championship an unprecedented 4 years in a row. He also won the USA National Championship in 1989 and 1991. After a second place finish at the USA Olympic Trials in 1992, Mike went on to Barcelona to finish 7th - the best finish by an American in the Javelin in over 20 years. Like many of our other notable alumni, Mike has been inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame for his accomplishments, Mike is still very active and visible on campus with his involvement with the FCA Night of Champions.
Innocent came to Azusa Pacific in 1980, already with a limited amount of international athletic experience under his belt. As a young man from Nigeria, he participated in the '80 Moscow Olympic Games prior to coming to Azusa Pacific. While at APU his success was unparalleled. He won individual championships in the 60yd Dash (3 times), the 100m (4 times) and 200m (3 times). Dudring his tenure in the NAIA, Inno's main competition came from, now, the NFL's fastest man, Darrell Green. Highlights of his career include personal bests of 10.15 / 20.21 / 44.17 ; a IAAF World Championships Silver medal(1987), and an Olympic Bronze Medal (1984).
One Half of the "World's Fastest Twins", Davidson came to Azusa Pacific in 1991. Already with a 10.05 100m under his belt as a Junior competitor, Davidson was destined to become one of the world premier sprinters. In 1992, on his home track, at the APU Meet of Champions, he blazed to a 9.91 100m - a collegiate, and Nigerian record. He went on to anchor the Silver medal winning 4x100m relay in Barcelona, while at the same time, being the youngest competitor in the 100m final. Since his graduation, he has continued his graduate education and his running, continuing to make an impact on every major international 100m Final.
The other Half of the "World's Fastest Twins", Osmond is no stranger to success both on and off the track. Osmond was also a part of the Silver Medal 4x100m Relay team in Barcelona. With his undergraduate degree in hand, and progress towards his graduate degree, he maintain's a presence in the world of track and field. With a personal best of 10.04 for 100m, (from the summer of '98) he along with his brother will be a force to be reconded with in the glamour event of Track and Field.
Coming to Azusa Pacific as as JC transfer, Benjamin came in and was a 7 time NAIA Champion in the Long Jump and Triple Jump (Indoor/Outdoor). One of the most consistant performers in Cougar history, Benjamin was an anchor in Azusa Pacific's National Championships. In 1992, while already qualfied for the Olympic Games, it was still a struggle to gain a spot on the Kenyan team. Traditionally a distance running team, the Kenyan federation finally agreed to give Benjamin the spot he had earned, and thus was the first "field event'r" to represent Kenya at the Olympic level. He has since gone on to a successfull buisness career, in his home country.
