Assistantships Overview

Students in the M.Ed. in the College Student Affairs program (traditional format) are required to complete 600 hours of fieldwork in a two different higher education settings, with at least 450 hours in one setting and 150 hours in a different setting.  Typically, students meet this requirement through part-time graduate assistantships on the APU campus and at surrounding institutions.  These assistantships are designed to provide a "laboratory" where students can apply and expand their classroom learning and develop in the twelve competencies on which the program is based.  Consistent with CAS standards, assistantships in two different domains broaden and deepen students' learning.
