I am one of the 2 American history professors here at APU, located in sunny southern California.  I teach the range of U.S. history courses, including surveys and upper-division.

Research Projects

Preparing two articles--one about the religious ideals of pre-Civil War German and Irish immigrants who lived in Pennsylvania and one about their labor experiences

I traveled extensively during my spring- semester sabbatical to build a database of letters and diaries for nineteenth-century Irish immigrants who settled in the American West.

 

Faculty Governance

Serving as member of Faculty Evaluation Committee.  This committee's task is to oversee the implementation and adjustment of our new faculty evaluation system for extended contracts and promotions.

Presidential Signatures Project.  Working to create a comprehensive program to highlight a complete set of presidential signatures donated recently to our Special Collections department.  Initial orientation for the project is the fifth grade.
