Life in Snohomish:
 | I
was raised in western Washington state in Snohomish, a small town
north of Seattle. |
Education
 |
After
graduating from the University of Washington (go Huskies!) I made my
way to Southern California for graduate studies where I met my wife,
Kevann (she wasn't
my wife at the time I met her . . .). We were married in 1983 and three years later trekked to
Illinois for a three-year stint at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
where I earned a Master of Arts in Church History and a Master of
Divinity degree as well. Next
it was back to Riverside in Southern California for my Ph.D. work in
U.S. history. I graduated
in 1997. I am in my eleventh year at Azusa Pacific.

Marriage
 |
Kev
and I are in our twenty-fifth year of marriage. We were married
New Year's Eve day in 1983--that way neither of us ever had to worry
about a New Year's Eve date! We were friends first, and remain
best friends now. We'd share some of our nicknames for each
other with you, but we don't want you to become too nauseated . . .

Personal Interests:
 |
Travel
 |
We
love to travel and have had the chance to see a large portion of
the country. We spent three years in the Chicago area, have
visited the East Coast from Boston to Washington D.C., and have
seen much of the Western States, since Bryan's family lives in
Washington and Kev's family lives in Carson City, Nevada. |

Golf
 | I'm
afraid I am a golfaholic. I
get out as often as I can, usually at least twice a month, with my
steady partners (perhaps a questionable description . . . ?) Larry
Waldahl and Gary LeMaster. We play all over Southern California.
My current handicap is hovering around 10. Highlight golf courses
in recent years have included the Kapalua Plantation Course on
Maui in Hawaii, Pebble Beach in Monterey, Bandon Dunes in Oregon,
Torrey Pines South in La Jolla, and Royal County Down in Northern
Ireland.
I play Ping G-10 irons and the
Cleveland HiBORE XLS driver. Here are some of my recent
golf outings--click on the individual pictures to see an

Eating
 | My
wife's
goal is to travel the world and grade the various cultures
based solely on the quality of their food.
We are fairly adventuresome diners, loving a wide
variety of ethnic foods. |
